Aquila Private Game Reserve & Spa offers a Big 5 safari experience just under two hours from Cape Town. The reserve features an indoor and outdoor children's play area, spa facilities with heated pools, and has received prestigious awards for conservation and social upliftment.

Safari-Inspired Accommodation

The rooms at Aquila Private Game Reserve & Spa have stone and thatch finishes with patios opening onto open space lawns. Premier Cottages offer a rustic Karoo safari experience with units privately positioned on the hillside, built in harmony with the rock which serves as a focal point in the bathrooms and alfresco showers.

Panoramic Dining Experience

The triple-volume restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience with panoramic views of the reserve. Aquila's overnight restaurant and day-visitor facilities provide the ideal setting for guests to enjoy buffet-style meals, while the upstairs viewing area with floor-to-ceiling windows creates a perfect vantage point for sunset cocktails overlooking the Karoo mountains.

Leisure Facilities

The main lodge pool offers space for the whole family to swim and create lasting memories. Guests can enjoy drinks and specialty cocktails at the wet bar, located next to the infinity pool, while those staying two nights or more receive complimentary access to the spa featuring an indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room, and 12 treatment rooms.

Safari Experiences

Located under two hours from Cape Town, the reserve offers the opportunity to experience natural flora and fauna by vehicle, quad bike, or on horseback. Safari experiences are led by experienced guides who share inside stories and facts about the surroundings, with guests able to spot wildlife including elephants in the distance.

Conservation Initiatives

At Aquila, guests learn about projects to offset the reserve's carbon footprint including recycling, solar energy, and aquaponics. The ARC (Aquila Rehabilitation Centre) is home to a newly created Education center with information on Eco Synergy systems and rhino conservation, while also providing the perfect location for rescued animals to live out their natural lives in comfort and safety.

Delicious Buffets

The buffet meals at Aquila were varied and offered a wide selection of dishes to satisfy all appetites. While there were a few items that weren't to our taste, I always found enough delicious options to indulge in at each meal. I particularly enjoyed how the meals catered to both kids and adults. The desserts were good too!

Relaxing Spa Experience

The spa at Aquila is absolutely stunning! My family and I treated ourselves to some rejuvenating treatments, and the massages were incredibly relaxing. After a long day of exciting game drives, it was the perfect way to unwind and refresh.

Stunning Premier Cottage

We stayed in the Premier Cottage which was breathtakingly beautiful. The room was spacious with an enormous bed, and I loved having the outdoor shower where I could look out at the reserve. It was a unique experience to catch glimpses of elephants and hippos right from our cottage!

Kid-Friendly Environment

I was pleasantly surprised by the childminding services available at Aquila. My little one was happily entertained with plenty of toys, allowing my partner and me to enjoy game drives without worry. The safaris were also child-friendly and catered perfectly to younger guests.
